Bio
Jeff Corcoran was named the first Men's Basketball Coach in November of 2021.
During the first season of competition in 2022-2023 he led the Timberwolves to a 4th place finish in the MCCAA North with a 6-8 record. NCMC finished the inaugural season with a 9-16 record, including winning the first contest ever played on November 4th 2022 at Lake Michigan College. Josh Adim earned MCCAA Northern Conference Player of the Week award on December 6th 2022 and Ashawn Burbridge earned the honor on February 22nd 2023 following a record setting 39 points against Delta College on 2/18/23. Burbridge and Skylar Crudup were named to the MCCAA North All-Freshman team. Burbridge was also honored with MCCAA North 2nd Team honors and Crudup was named to both the MCCAA North 3rd Team as well as the MCCAA North All-Defensive Team.
Jeff Corcoran, a Harbor Springs native with more than 25 years of coaching experience came to NCMC from Joliet Township high school where he coached boys’ basketball from 2000-2019. Along with coaching basketball, Corcoran coached soccer and golf. He also served as the Dean of students, assistant athletic director, and Physical Education instructor throughout his time at Joliet Township high school. Corcoran was named coach of the year (2004-05) and in 2015-16 season he led the boys’ basketball team to their first ever Regional Title.
Corcoran founded the Joliet Pride travel basketball team and was program director for AQ Champions, the youth travel basketball program founded by Allie Quigley of the WNBA's Chicago Sky.
Prior to Joliet Township high school, Corcoran was a Physical Education Instructor at Crete-Monee high school and Gompers Junior High where he also coached basketball along with cross country, and volleyball during this time.
Corcoran started his coaching career as a student assistant for the men’s basketball team at Northern Michigan University. He graduated from NMU with a Bachelor of Science in Education.
Corcoran attended Lewis University, where he earned his master’s in administration. He then went on to earn his second master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction at Concordia University.
