Bio

Rod Anderson started the NCMC Club Cross Country team in 2019 and in 2022 led the team as the first varsity squads in the NJCAA and MCCAA. 

During the first season of competition Anderson led all runners to complete personal records throughout the season and oversaw both teams competeting at the MCCAA Conference Championship where the women's team finished 7th (out of 18 teams) and the men's team was 12th (out of 19 teams). 

Anderson received his cross-country coaching certification through USATF. The USATF Cross Country Specialist Certification includes a variety of sessions, activities, specialty drills, team building strategies, and long-term athlete development for endurance running.

Anderson is a full-time faculty member at North Central Michigan College teaching Economics. 

Anderson has fulfilled a variety of assistant coaching roles throughout the years, as well as coached club youth soccer teams for Petoskey Youth Soccer Association.

He is an avid, lifelong runner, who has completed 20 marathons, including the Boston Marathon—twice.

Anderson attended Montana State University, where he earned his M.S. in Applied Economics. Prior to Montana State, he attended Wheaton College, where he earned his B.A. in Economics and competed in track and cross country as a student-athlete.
