
Couturier is Champion at Firebirds Invitational
Grayling, MI – The Timberwolves had 4 members of the women’s cross country team competing at the Firebirds Invitational hosted by Kirtland Community College. It was a strong showing for the women as Kendra Couturier (Lake Leelanau/Lake Leelanau St. Mary) won the race and was crowed the Champion with a time of 22:19.
This is the first time a Timberwolf has won an individual race since Makenna Dolson ’23 won the Firebird-Timberwolves Duals in 2022.
It was a line a blue at the front of the Pack as Sydney Feagan (Harbor Springs/St. Michael's Academy) crossed the finish line in 3rd place and Rachel Descamps (Charlevoix/Charlevoix) showed strength at the end to pass and hold off the competition to collect 4th place in the race. Kaylie Corcoran (Joliet,IL/Harbor Springs) finished in 16th place.

The Timberwolves will travel to Muskegon to take part in the Jayhawks Invitational. The team competed on this course a few weeks ago for the MCCAA Northern Conference Championship and will now join over 20 schools including four year institutions in a competitive field.
